43rd Hazel Park District Court Judges
Hon. Brian Hartwell – Elected to office in 2020 after over 13 years of experience in the private law sector, Judge Hartwell is an experienced and well respected judge in the Oakland County justice system. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law in 2008, and has held positions in the Madison Heights City Council as well as serving as the president of the Kiwanis Club of Madison Heights. He is actively involved in the Hazel Park community, with one of his current projects including teaming up with HAVEN to help victims of domestic violence in Hazel Park.

Madison Heights Division – As a sister division of the Hazel Park court and part of the 43rd District Court system, this court covers cases that occur within the City of Madison Heights and the northern area of the 43rd District Courts jurisdiction. It is located on 13 mile road, just west of John R Road.
